We recently undertook an exercise to see how we could cut costs in our purchasing area it turned out that it was costing us about $41 for every purchase order that we issued out of our business we felt there had to be a better way to handle this so we investigated automation via software.

Both big and smaller enterprises’s will see the advantage of having a central procurement model. Effectively a small section of individuals are responsible for the purchases of a larger group. This allows the control and audit to be effectively managed and allows compliance with issues like the SOX laws.

Many mid-size enterprises around the Globe dont have any type of system for checking the items they received were in fact the items they ordered. This is a surprising as they go to great lengths to authorize the expense, generate the Purcahse Order and pay the invoice on time but dont check that they actually received what they are paying for. The problem usually does come to light but sometimes it can be many weeks after the invoice was paid.
